I'm Sofia! I create healthy, minimal and delicious dishes in a not so fancy kitchen! Hope you enjoy!
This past summer I traveled to Rome and Positano for a week both. And seriously, Italy you are simply breathtaking.
I traveled with my family of 14… Yes I am one of 6 brothers and sisters and then my grandparents joined us too, “Big Fat Mexican Family”. So the easiest way to travel together and really bond is by renting a home for our stays… so we rented homes for our trip on Airbnb that made us really live and experience the cities like locals- we did grocery shopping and had pool days.
If you aren’t on airbnb yet sign up here… you wont regret it and your get $51 off your first trip!!
For out first stop we rented a home in Rome which was in the outskirts, Grottaferrata. The Villa is very beautiful, grand and we all fit perfectly. The housekeeper was very friendly always helping us to set up the table and grill for cook outs, set up the music for us to listen to by the pool and would have everything clean and tidy for our stay. We rented cars so we could visit the surroundings and to go into the city we would go by Metro, very easy to use, no need to change metros or anything its one line into the city. Regarding the attractions in Rome there is not much to say, you probably know it all by heart so I’ll just link the home we rented here if you would like to check it out:
Now getting to the good stuff: Positano.
The Villa we rented in Positano was named Villa Dei Fisci, the house the service everything is magical and perfect for my family of 14. I literally can’t put into words the beautiful experience we had, and the house and service was of course a huge part in making this experience out of this world. The the views in the house were beautiful and we hired a cook and the food he prepared was to die for. Ill leave a few pictures of the house so you can check it out, but here’s the link if you are interested to see more:
And in Positano these places are a must to check out:
• Da Adolfo: Highly recommended, you get there by a small boat ferry and it is a small Positano beach front, so visiting this restaurant you will have an amazing meal and a nice more private beach area to swim.
• Palazzo Hotel: The terrace bar for drinks is a beautiful and the restaurant is delicious- make sure you order the truffle risotto (dessert wasn’t great- get gelato instead!!)
• Boat Day: rent a boat and take the trip to Capri, best day ever !!!
• Il San Pietro
• Le Sirenuse
• Black Chez
There are many places to visit surrounding Positano, like Ravello, Nerano, Amalfi, Sorrento and Capri. Some of these places you can travel but renting a motorbike and Capri by boat!
And before I forget to mention if you have time hike: The Path of Gods!! Its easy/medium hike, so worth it because the views on this trail are seriously breathtaking!!
