Seared Tuna with Asparagus

Seared Tuna with Asparagus

Quick seared tuna on a bed of asapragus for lunch! Literally took me about 20-30 mintues to make total!

Ingredients for tuna:

  • 2 big handfuls fresh cilantro leaves
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 2 tbsp tamari (or soy sauce)
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 4 tbsp avocado oil
  • Sea salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tuna filets
  • 2-3 chile torreado
  • 1 ripe avocado


 

Ingredients for asparagus:

  • About 20 sticks of asparagus
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp tamari (or soy sauce)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 4 green tips sliced of green onions
  • 1  tsp grated ginger
  • ½ jalapeno sliced raw

 

Directions:

  1. Grill on a non stick pan the asparagus. Do this first because they take longer to cook.

  2. Meanwhile prepare your sauces.

  3. For the tuna sauce, mix in a small bowl the cilantro, the ginger, tamari (or sauce of choice), the minced garlic, lemon juice, avocado oil and s+p.

  4. In a separate bowl mix together the asparagus sauce. The sesame oil, tamari (or sauce of choice), lemon juice, ginger, green tips, and raw jalapeno slices.

  5. I love chile toreados so I made 3 chile chorreados by slightly coating them in avocado oil and grilling them alongside the asparagus. Turn them every few minutes so they dont burn.

  6. Once your sauces are ready. You can sear the tuna. On a medium heat pan add a tbsp or 2 of avocado oil to the pan and place the tuna.

  7. Allow to cook for a minute then flip over, once flipped at in ½ the sauce of the tuna sauce and allow to cook for another 30 sec to a minute.

  8. To plate, place asparagus on plate and add its sauce. Then place seared tuna on top and add on its sauce as well.

  9. Slice son avocado, season with sesame seeds *optional* and enjoy!!!
